All Is Quiet

We found a happy way to be in a stall 3/23

“On the Western Front” as they say…
Not a whole lot going on.  Prophecy is a “pasture puff”, getting pulled out at least once a week for grooming, etc.  Our weather has been horrible, so I guess it is a good thing I’m not trying to ride! He had hoof trim a week or so ago in the round pen because the wind was so outrageous (30+mph) and he hates being in the barn with the noise the metal roof creates in the bad gusts (I don’t blame him!).

One muzzle was found, but not the one I really wanted to be!  I have hiked his 22acre field 2x now, it has been driven on a mule at least twice, and just no sign of the first muzzle anywhere!  sneaky horsie….

So, here is his really bright blue halter with a new greengaurd muzzle on it!  This one better not disappear!!  Fortunately I had the “replacement” one they sent me because his previous field mates had distorted the other pretty badly pulling him around, but it was still working.  He was enjoying some rump scratches and massages as I turned him back out for the night.

My free time basically revolves around trying to find the right situation for Prophecy next. I have a few retirement options, but have also been looking at non-riding equine therapy programs – several of those specialize in PTSD  – aside from just a good companion home or a move to inexpensive boarding.
While I’d love to have a decision, no hasty decisions will be made here (you know me, how often have I made an impulsive decision? lol).  Trying to balance what is best for him, and for me, not just financially but emotionally as I come to terms with the change at hand.

Skyler is enjoying her riding lessons when we can do them around the weather! Now is she riding by herself in the round pen. Some work to do on her stops and turns when Flicka has other ideas but doing great and loving it!

We FINALLY got a good snow in VA – on the first day of spring!! Of course that meant 2 days off of school for the kids, but lots of fun to play in 🙂

Snowball Fight!

And last but not least… Prophecy turned 10 on Monday the 19th!  Unfortunately due to weather and such I couldn’t get to him till Friday to give him a good brushing and some Stabul Treats 🙂

That was yummy mom!

More please!!
