a new site
Yay! you’ve made it to my new blog site. I decided to move from Blogger to WordPress for a few reasons; so far it seems to have imported correctly & mostly looking how I want it 🙂 Either you landed here from a link on Face Book, or my redirection via the post to the “followers” of Blogger; Thank you for continuing to read on my journey!

Sully has been on pasture rest (no riding) since our return from Gobble. After a few weeks he was still looking a bit rough walking up the driveway, so I contacted one of the osteopaths in the area that I knew could travel to us as the truck is still not fixed! (I’ll explain more later)
Jessica visited and said he just needs to build up some more muscle back there and we can ride again – I am to do as much walking on him as my butt can handle in the saddle, and start him backing uphill on the ground every ride/visit. He got adjusted overall, and in particular she found he had a rib out, his ilium was stuck and not moving as well as it should, and lastly put on a Dark Beer additive to his grain for a few weeks for a kidney flush 😛 She didn’t find any “permanent” issues, nor any soreness from the saddle, so all good signs for us to get back to conditioning for 2019. Right now my schedule is just too crazy to fit in any riding, but that should change in a few weeks!

This guy loves MUD! which isn’t bad when he is blanketed but when he is free of it…oye! I enrolled Skyler’s help grooming one day and she was just in love with how soft his winter coat felt.
He had another trim last week, and we did a new set of measurements for the Scoots since I have to replace one lost boot I want to make sure we are still using the right size (which we are). I also sent his measurements into Renegade to get recommendations on the correct glue-on size, as I’m still debating learning how to do that myself for some rides. His hinds are the same, but the two fronts are two different sizes of course (they are sold as singles at least!).
I’ve also been busy with the conclusion of the 2018 Green Bean season and the start of 2019 working on emails and newsletters, and we finally got some family pictures done for this year.

Sully had a another magna-wave session with Sarah Fri eve, and then ready for snow over the weekend in a heavier blanket. I finally also got to work on breaking in my new Ariat Pro-Zips on Sat – my first pair of zip boots and I’m surprised how well they fit despite not having laces to tighten up (I’ve always been a laces gal).

If you look closely, there are icicles on the blanket!
Not having a 4wd truck on hand really stinks right now… The dealership in Richmond had it for a week starting just before Thanksgiving, without being able to duplicate the issues I had after Gobble, they just replaced the ABS module and performed a IWE TSB at my request (and did its 30K service). Immediately after the drive back to work and putting it in park the errors returned! So, I take it to a more local dealer to have a look; they kept it for a few days trying to duplicate the errors with no luck. I have videos of it happening, so they understand it is a real problem but are stuck with nothing to “fix.” So I pick up again that Fri afternoon, only to have it throwing errors and loud grinding again that eve. Back it went the next morning and they gave us a loaner car (Escape). A few days later they let me know that they had gotten it duplicate my issue, but the number of trouble codes it is spitting out is ridiculous and they have no idea where to begin to fix it… They have put in a call to Ford for assistance, but we have heard nothing further…
We got about 6″-7″ around here Sun, causing me to reschedule my training class for work to Feb as I couldn’t drive to Northern VA in it, schools to close for today, and work even opened late today (but many of us still unable to get there). Using the Edge (front wheel drive) coming home from Sunday’s soccer game we almost didn’t make it up our driveway entrance… Needless to say, we are kind of stuck home and anxiously awaiting any updates on the F150.
Frostbite Tournament
The soccer tournament at the end of the fall season is called “Frostbite” and this year there was no disappointment in living up to its name! Asher’s team was scheduled for 2 games Saturday, 1 Sunday morning, and finally a Championship Game Sunday afternoon if they made it.
Saturday was 25 and frosty at their first game which they won. The second game it warmed up to 39, but the team had a rougher time pulling together after a few mistakes and lost. A good pep talk from the coaches and each other after the game, and they came back to really show everyone how well they can play together Sunday morning. Snow started just as the game began and continued throughout. They were really in sync as a team and won this game, which meant they would go on to the Championship round to play against another team. Due to the weather and road conditions, that game was cancelled and the 2 teams will be “Co-Champions” for this year 🙂 We enjoyed a team lunch at Panera, then headed back home to play in the snow, which just kept coming for several more hours!
